Many models have integral lights whilst others are light adaptable giving a wide variety of options to suit individual tastes.

A Brief History

Fantasia Ceiling Fans started trading in 1985 from a retail shop in Petts Wood, London. Within five years it was a multi-million pound company supplying all the major multiples as well as independent lighting retailers and department stores.

During that time, Fantasia had the market largely to itself and created a reputation for quality and service with all products being imported from Taiwan where they had been making fans for over 30 years.

In the early 1990s, competition arrived from American fan companies. With the economic downturn, the multiples in particular were looking for lower prices and as the American companies supplied their product from China this is something they were able to offer.

Fantasia recognised that its future lay in continuing to provide the best quality, design and service and therefore decided to concentrate on the lighting retail and department store business.  While this initially resulted in a significant reduction in turnover, it set Fantasia apart from the competition and led to a period of 10 years uninterrupted growth.

Fantasia continues to strive to maintain its leadership in the development of innovative, high-quality products while achieving an exceptional service level that is second to none. LED lighting has become a major focus, as customers become increasingly energy-conscious and LED lighting now forms an ever increasing proportion of our range.

Fantasia fans combine large motors with a steep blade pitch to maximize the circulation of air whilst ensuring quiet, efficient and wobble-free operation. Our fan motors are of silicon steel construction with double sealed bearings, ensuring long, quiet, reliable and maintenance-free operation. Fantasia motor housings are of metal or wood construction. All metal surfaces are powder coated or plated and lacquered to give a permanent seal and prevent tarnishing.

Fantasia fans can be operated in summer for a cooling effect and reversed in winter to re-circulate warm air trapped at ceiling level.

All models operate on 230 volt / 50 cycle electricity supply. Installing a Fantasia fan is similar to installing a light fitting but you must ensure that the fan blade tips are at least 7” (18cm) from any obstruction such as a sloping roof or beam. Blades should be mounted at least 7ft 6” (2.3m) from the floor.

Ceiling fans can be installed in any room, except bathrooms. In conservatories or rooms with higher ceilings a drop rod and conversion kit may be required. Wall controls and remote controls are also available.

We place energy saving technologies at the heart of our product development and are always striving to incorporate low energy benefits into our ceiling fan ranges. LED options are now available on more models than ever before, with many fans featuring a built-in LED array for excellent light output at a fraction of the day-to-day running costs.

We were the first to introduce low energy DC motors, over 10 years ago. Our DC motor fans take your household power supply and convert this to a low voltage supply for the windings, thereby consuming 60% less electricity than a traditional AC motor. In addition, a greater degree of speed control can be applied to DC motors and therefore our low energy models offer 6 speeds in forward and reverse, twice that of a normal fan.

The ‘Brushless’ DC (BLDC) motor has permanent magnets which respond to the varying DC signals from the control system that in turn generate the motion required of a fan. This means lower heat dissipation, quieter operation and lower magnetic interference.

We also offer a range of LED equivalent bulbs such as dimmable G9 and GU10 LED bulbs which are fully compatible with our remote control systems. Average life of 30,000 hours. They also come with a 2 year warranty for complete peace of mind.

We consider care for the environment to be one of our key responsibilities and an important part of the way in which we do business. Protection of the environment in which we live and operate is part of Fantasia’s values and principles. We are energy conscious when looking for new product and over the years we have continually expanded our range energy efficient product.

Fantasia ceiling fans are better for the environment than many air cooling systems. The winter setting on our ceiling fans re-circulates warm air trapped at ceiling level, eliminating cold spots and draughts and distributing room heat without creating a cooling breeze. Used correctly, a fan can save as much as 10% on energy bills during winter months.
